Coco Models Takes A Look At Nicki Minaj: The Hip-Hop Barbie

She is known as the Barbie of hip-hop, also known as Nicki da Harajuku Barbie, Nicki da Ninja, or Nicki da Boss. Along with her multiple personalities, Nicki has a strong fashion sense and love for pink. Her style if often compared to Lady Gaga, Lil’ Kim, and Trina with her own twist.

Her passion for pink is reflected in her clothes, hair-styles, nails and shoes. She is not afraid to flaunt her figure and has a growing level of confidence which has been on display as we have watched her evolve from street wear to Avant Garde. Her brash personality is also reflected a great deal through her outlandish wardrobe choices, unpredictable hairstyles and wild makeup which usually consist of bright hues and color palettes which fall in line with her interesting fashion sense.

When the discussion of female role-models in music and fashion comes up Nicki continues to be a dividing figure. Some women look at her as a symbol of female empowerment, confidence, attitude and someone who dares to be different. Her music continues to climb the charts as her new album PINK FRIDAY is both creative and artistic. Furthermore, in celebration of the release of the album she has collaborated with M.A.C for a new limited edition lipstick called Pink Friday.

Coco Models Looks Back At the American Music Awards

Hollywood’s best came out for the American Music Awards Sunday night in LA. The red carpet was packed with daring dresses that ranged from jaw dropping to hideous. Here are the best and worst of the night.

Best Dressed

Fergie took a risk in her peacock feathered mini and balanced it out with minimal makeup. Rihanna matched her red curls with a lacy gown. Taylor Swift changed it up with new bangs and straight hair while wearing a short studded dress. She later picked up the award for Favourtie Female Country Artist. Miley Cyrus made a statement in a white mini with a long train and looked very poised. Kelly Osbourne went for a simple strapless number and big hair. Mom-to-be Pink glowed in a long flowy black dress before her highly anticipated performance.

Worst Dressed

Ke$ha had a unique look exemplified by her hair and studded eyebrows all the way to her dress that looked like it was found in the trash. I hope that her stylist was not paid in advance. Nicki Minaj looks to be getting the same type of styling advice as Ke$ha since they always seem come out with questionable outfits. Nicki went for an ornate dress and was working blonde hair dipped in green that definitely grabbed everyone’s attention. Nicki decided to promote her album while giving out the award for Soul/R&B Female. While accepting the award Rihanna spanked Nicki’s bottom. Christina Millian also wore a short sliver lace dress with cut outs on her body that didn’t impress.
